Responsibilities
- Installs appropriate technology; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by job work package.
- Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
- Excellent knowledge in connector termination for related technology as required for all aspects as a security system installing and servicing.
- Excellent knowledge and ability in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electronic lock devices.
- Excellent knowledge in programming and training onsite personnel in numerous Access Control, CCTV, and Burglar alarm systems i.e. (Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, S2, DSX, Galaxy, PCSC, Gallagher, Radionics, DMP, Pelco, Milestone, Aventura, Samsung, Panasonic, Axis, etc…).
- Excellent knowledge of networking addressing schemes and network integration.
- Experience in IP cameras, IP access control, and computers a must.
- Must have experience in PTZ camera installation and programming and addressing.
- Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations in the construction of buildings from start to closure.
- Must have understanding of the construction process, timeline management, utilizing work packages and budget tracking.
- Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
- Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
- Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
- Technician must have knowledge to be able to send tests to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
- Deciphers building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
- Able to work with other installers, supervisors, and project leaders who are dedicated to a large Commercial and/or National Accounts project.
- Performs other duties as assigned; this may include performing off hour service work and being assigned to an on-call rotation.
- Must be able to lift 75lbs.
- Must be able to operate articulating boom lifts, climb ladders, and operate such devices in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some technical school training desired.
- Experience: Six to twelve months apprenticeship class or room study and 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- Must provide own set of hand tools and light power tools.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain required industry licensing (CJIS, DCJS).
- Ability to use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and miscellaneous test equipment.
- Must be able to travel and lodge on remote projects.
Skills
- Candidate must be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Experience with some auto cad, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, MCSE or MCSA a plus.
- Candidate must have the ability to use hand and power tools and should have his own tools as an installer.
- Candidate must have the ability to operate fleet vehicle in a safe manner at all times.
- Candidate must have the ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
