Security Lead Officer
DK Security is Michigan’s fastest growing security company. About the Role
This is a billable, uniform capacity position working 30 - 39 hours per week. The vast majority of the role is operational, requiring the Lead Officer to maintain a personal presence throughout the region. The position involves significant travel in a personal vehicle; mileage will be reimbursed at $0.445/mile after the initial 50 miles of each one-way trip.
Responsibilities
- Direct, supervise, and manage subordinates in executing appropriate strategies consistent with law, client and company policy, and security standards to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Oversee the training of all assigned officers to ensure they carry out duties as outlined in the site’s post guidelines.
- Ensure the appearance, grooming, and physical image of all uniformed security employees and event staff are impeccable at all times.
- Maintain regular communication with the designated client contact, follow through with client requests, and update the operations manager on client communications.
- Understand and enforce DK’s customer service GIFTS program with all assigned officers.
- Maintain an inventory of and report problems associated with DK and client-owned equipment and uniforms.
- Be available on-call to address questions from subordinates while they are on duty and handle unexpected scheduling issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned, which may vary depending on the needs of the site or client contact.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Must pass a drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana; federal compliance required).
- Must not have been convicted of any felonies or disqualifying misdemeanors (e.g., dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information, controlled substances, or two or more alcohol-related offenses).
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk (including stairs) for 8-12 hours at a time and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be CPR, First Aid, and AED certified (or willing to become certified) and capable of administering lifesaving care.
- Must have 20/20 vision (corrected if necessary) and the ability to hear conversations in loud environments (in-person or via radio).
- Must be able to use a smartphone or computer to check emails and complete online training.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Must possess professionalism, excellent customer service skills, personal integrity, and a positive attitude.
- Must complete required trainings on time and adhere to all client and company policies.
Skills
No prior experience is required. Military veterans and individuals with security, firefighting, department of corrections, or law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply.
Pay
$18.61 per hour.
Schedule
- Various days (Monday - Sunday), including weekends.
- 2nd and 3rd shifts required.
