About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with visitors and staff, and contribute to a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity throughout assigned areas, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, or policy violations according to site procedures.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
