Security Guard Part Time - Corporate Building

About the role

As a Part-Time Security Officer at a dynamic media and technology location in New York, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while supporting a welcoming environment. This role serves clients in industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and offers flexibility through Allied Universal's Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and media personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a fast-paced media and publishing location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, production spaces, common areas, loading zones, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and document observations, incidents, and unusual conditions in required reports.
• Maintain professional communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership while supporting a welcoming environment for authorized occupants and guests.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws (qualified applications with criminal histories considered consistent with applicable laws).
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and regulations (may be required prior to employment).
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Pay

Hourly rate: $18.30 – $19.30

Schedule

Part-time, daytime weekends: Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
