Security Guard - Part Time Access Control Operations

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and staff by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue temporary access badges, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, unauthorized-entry attempts, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of building access points, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify irregular conditions and support compliance with property procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and access-control activities in clear, timely reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site management.

Minimum Requirements

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
