About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a retail and mall location in Miami, FL, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for shoppers, tenants, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and report security-related concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, tenants, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail and mall location, including common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and visitor activity, and help maintain orderly conditions in accordance with site procedures.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately through required reports, logs, and/or electronic reporting systems.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
