Security Guard - Experience Required

Responsibilities

• Conduct unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior) of hospital grounds
• Document detailed observations of unusual conditions
• Aid hospital staff with de-escalation of patient-related situations
• Restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)
• Transport patients to the morgue, as needed
• Auxiliary in escorting patients from helicopter pad to the emergency room
• Auxiliary in evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters
• Sound alarms or call police/fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rule infractions
• Monitor and control access to and from the hospital
• Prepare and maintain written logs
• Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle
• Two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating to customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)
• At least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
• Able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
• Able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
