About the role
This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Guard Enhanced Part Time Patrol Observation in San Mateo, CA, you’ll have a fixed site assignment with reliable hours and the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You’ll be hired for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: Pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Scale hours up to 40/week or back as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a financial institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity in accordance with site procedures for a financial services location.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Minimum age: 18 years for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal considers qualified applicants with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to drug screening to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
- Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Schedule
Daytime – Tuesday, 08:45 AM – 06:00 PM (fixed anchor shift with optional additional shifts)
