About the role
Incumbent will have an obligation to manage its situations in such a way that it minimizes any possibilities of injury to clients, staff and other persons visiting the premises as well as provide security, loss control, and protection to the New Mexico Behavior Health Institute at Las Vegas (NMBHI), Community Based Services (CBS). and San Miguel/Mora Mental Health Services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct searches of new admissions, clients and visitors to prevent contraband from entering NMBHI.
- Check all buildings and ensure they are properly secured (all windows closed, doors locked, and lights off during non-working hours) for NMBHI.
- Assist staff members with combative clients using CPI techniques.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possess and maintain a valid NM Driver's License.
- Obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
Qualifications
No prior experience or training required.
Skills
- Experience working with fire alarm systems.
- Experience checking fire extinguishers.
- Experience with ten‑code.
Pay
$17.00 - $25.49 hourly ($35,350 - $53,024 annually)
