CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors, and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach more than 72,000 individuals and families each year at our 100 locations, including 10,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families live in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

Clarkson Estates

Clarkson Estates will provide supportive housing to 59 formerly homeless families, 35 formerly homeless young adults, 35 youth aging out of foster care, and 35 formerly incarcerated individuals. Programming will focus on economic development and workforce training, youth development and violence prevention, adult education and financial literacy, recreation, and health and wellness.

Position: Security Guard

• Welcome onsite visitors, determine nature of business, and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Greet visitors and members in a professional and friendly manner.
• Maintain a presence at the front desk or designated post to address visitor inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain the professional appearance of the receptionist’s area.
• Assist with shelter-in-place, lockdown, and fire drill procedures, following center protocols.
• Answer visitor questions and distribute application forms.
• Absorb and respond to security-related incidents, emergencies, or disruptions, and deescalate situations calmly and effectively.
• Maintain a daily log of all activities and incidents.
• May perform computer data entry/verification functions.
• Tasks may be modified, expanded and/or assigned over time.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

• A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• A valid Security Guard License issued by NYS required.

Other Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Compensation

$19.10/hourly

Full-time (35 hours per week)
