Security Guard

Major Responsibilities

• Maintain security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the secure facility
• Maintain a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times
• Monitor surveillance systems for intrusion and unauthorized activities
• Control access of employees and/or visitors
• Respond to intrusion, fire, and health/safety related incidents
• Maintain legible duty and visitor logs
• Greet visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Coordinate with police, fire and emergency medical personnel

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous security experience preferred (prior military highly desirable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in basic computer skills
• Quickly learn the layout of the facility, function rooms, and some knowledge of the city and surrounding areas
• Fingerprint card, current CPR/First Aid certification required
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions or revocations within the past 7 years
• Able to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
• Able to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property
• Must have the ability to communicate in English
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
