Security Guard
About the role
The Security Guard at Evergreen Health is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring the premises and personnel, and responding to security issues.
Responsibilities
- Maintains order and protects property by circulating among visitors and employees
- Patrols the premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter
- Enforces security and safety procedures and regulations
- Escorts visitors, patients, and staff out of the building as requested or required
- Maintains surveillance equipment to detect, deter, and report all issues and increase overall safety in the facility
- Responds to emergency and crisis situations
- Works security for special programming or agency-sponsored events upon request
- In emergency situations, assesses the potential for disturbance or danger and takes appropriate action to reduce threats, including alerting first responders
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- At least two (2) years experience working in a security role in a healthcare setting
- A current and valid New York State Security Guard Registration Card
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Reliable transportation to travel between Evergreen locations as needed
- Professionalism and emotional control with effective observational and monitoring ability
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least two (2) years experience working in a security role in a healthcare setting. Three (3) years of experience is preferred.
