Security Guard

About the role

Gibbon Packing, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, seeks a Security Guard at their Gibbon, NE plant.

Responsibilities

• Utilize gate houses to control access and prevent unauthorized access to buildings and property.
• Greet and monitor employees, visitors, vendors, and consultants granted access to buildings and property.
• Disarm all alarms and activate card access readers on buildings when necessary for that shift.
• Arm, lock, and secure all buildings nightly or on company holidays when necessary for that shift.
• Respond to any emergency situation as called.
• Staff gatehouses, greeting employees, customers, visitors, and vendors, providing assistance, information, and visitor parking passes in a courteous, professional manner.
• Maintain an active list of all temporary associates, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Patrol the surrounding premises.
• Assist with the cattle unloading process when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures, including warm, hot, humid, cold, wet, or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work extended scheduled hours, including nights and weekends.
• Must be able to work overtime as required and varying shifts.
• Must be willing and able to use a firearm.
• Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense, Humane Handling.
