Security Guard - Armed Patrol Part Time

About the role

As a Part-Time Armed Security Officer supporting an aerospace and defense location in Fairfax, VA, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, caring, and integrity at Allied Universal.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense-related location.
• Perform armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas on a regular and random basis to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and vehicles entering restricted or controlled areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following post orders and applicable procedures.
• Document patrol activity, incidents, observations, and security-related concerns accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Possess an armed guard card or license (a guard card or license is preferred).
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; qualified applications with criminal histories will be considered consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
