About the role

As an Armed Security Officer at a government location in Greensboro, NC, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable post orders and established procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry as directed, while maintaining awareness of activity throughout the assigned location.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess at least 5 years of security-related experience.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
