About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic logistics and distribution location in Charleston, SC, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor site activity, and help deter security-related incidents. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming, professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the facility, including verifying identification, processing authorized visitors and contractors, and maintaining required access records.
• Observe entry and exit points, loading areas, and designated access-control locations to help deter unauthorized access and report irregular activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and loading zones; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Preferred qualifications: customer service experience, access control and badge experience. Note: on-site facilities are limited (e.g., portable toilets, rustic guard shack).

Pay

$18.54 per hour.

• Monday: 05:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Tuesday: 05:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Wednesday: 05:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Thursday: 05:00 AM – 10:00 AM
• Friday: 05:00 AM – 10:00 AM
