About the role
This position will perform duties as a Security Generalist, providing security support for classified areas at the F-35 Pilot Training Center. The role involves a mix of operational security tasks, compliance enforcement, and program administration to ensure the protection of classified materials and export-controlled data.
Responsibilities
- Assist instructors, pilots, and visitors using the facility.
- Operate badging and access control systems; monitor security camera systems.
- Perform random searches and enforce all USAF and local security procedures and practices.
- Control access to secure facilities and handle/storage of classified documents and electronic media.
- Monitor compliance with COMSEC and COMPUSEC; act as COMSEC/SVRO Custodian as needed.
- Assist with file plans, documentation maintenance in classified containers, change combinations, and generate SF 700s.
- Support self-inspections and prepare for customer inspections.
- Perform and document vault alarm tests; assist in security investigations.
- Escort un-cleared personnel within classified areas.
- Support first, second, or third shift operations, including weekends as needed.
- Occasional business travel, including deployment and detachment support in austere locations to support F-35 security operations outside Tyndall AFB.
- Develop, administer, and audit security programs for compliance with government regulations related to classified material and export-controlled data.
- Execute security programs for proprietary information in compliance with corporate policies.
- Support contractual security requirements for Special Access Programs (SAP), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), or DoD collateral classified programs.
- Serve as a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), or Security Representative.
- Study and implement federal security regulations (e.g., JAFAN/JSIG, ICD, NISPOM).
- Work with U.S. Government customers to seek contract execution approvals and security rulings or deviations.
- Manage quality, schedule, and cost expectations while maintaining fundamental security requirements.
- Prepare implementation manuals outlining regulations and procedures for handling, storing, and granting access to classified materials.
- Develop and conduct security education classes.
- Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive actions.
- Apply business-minded and risk-managed solutions to security challenges and communicate recommendations to leadership.
- Process clearances, customer visits, and support classified meetings.
Requirements
- Secret security clearance with an investigation or Continuous Vetting (CV) date within the last 5 years.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
- Experience working in classified areas and with classified materials.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service skills.

- Knowledge of Joint Strike Fighter security requirements.
- Experience working in a military environment.
- Ability to work well independently and in group settings.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of ICD 705 and/or DoD Manual 5205.07.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $44,500 – $82,700. Note that the salary offered considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, key skills, and market conditions.

- Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per month for incidental absences and receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

- PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Schedule
- Assigned shifts (first, second, or third) should be stable but may change to support mission requirements.
- Weekend work may be required as needed.
