Security Escort - On-Call
Job Summary
This position ensures operational security at NGA West by escorting and monitoring visitors, maintaining classified information confidentiality, and providing excellent customer service.
Primary Duties
- Alert NGA Security Police in case of disasters or unauthorized persons.
- Participate in crisis support.
- Escort visitors and authorized personnel.
- Check security badges to verify clearances.
- May assist at access entry points.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Ensure proper attire and adherence to contract requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Enforce and monitor policy changes.
- Contact appropriate personnel to resolve issues.
- Perform general administrative tasks.
- Practice good safety habits and follow NGA and ServiceSource safety policies.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, or employees to preserve order and protect security.
- Warn persons of rule infractions and report violations.
- Maintain NGA site access by completing required trainings and briefings.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain NGA site access through HSPD-12 background check.
- Previous security experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI government security clearance with polygraph.
- Familiarity with safety policies, including the Disaster Control Plan, DOD, and NGA physical security policies.
- Excellent oral/verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and accurate work habits.
- Flexible and adaptable to contract needs.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, reach, talk, hear, type, open/close doors, and operate alarms.
- Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to work with people at all organizational levels.
