Security Escort

Position Location

This position is located on site in Annapolos Junction, MD.

Job Overview

The Security Escort will escort skilled trade workers during maintenance and repair activity. The incumbent performs escort services for sub-contractors, new employees and/or visitors in accordance with the customer and company strict security regulations. The Security Escort must be vigilant and report all suspicious or noncompliant behaviors or conditions. The position requires coordination with the designated Task Monitor, or the requesting service contractor, to ensure necessary escort services within the secured area of the operation, and other satellite areas, is accomplished as required.

Responsibilities

• Covers essential escort services within the secured area of the operation, and other satellite areas, as required.
• Ensures all visiting personnel "Sign In/Sign Out" in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
• Escorts uncleared workers to the restroom, break rooms, lunch areas and other areas as required while keeping them in sight while in secured environments.
• Ensures proper housekeeping practices are strictly adhered to.
• Interacts professionally with customers, contractors, vendors and staff members; maintains effective working relationships in cooperation with the Wolf Creek management team to meet the mission objectives of the contract.
• Observes uncleared workers while they perform their work duties to ensure they are not accessing sensitive or classified areas, documents, and/or materials.
• Notifies the contract Project Manager and the Safety staff of unsafe working conditions.
• Communicates/updates supervisor of unique situations and problems encountered.
• Communicates/updates supervisor on progress of jobs being escorted.
• Operates company and customer vehicles to transport people, materials and tools to worksites.
• Mets and escorts subcontractors, new employees and visitors at various geographic areas at the primary Ft. Meade location.
• Mets safety performance standards.
• Works additional hours as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Mandatory: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one (1) year of escort, security or guard experience, i.e. Tour Guide, Chaperone, Security.
• Possess the required security clearance.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability and willingness to complete escort training and maintain customer escort requirements.
• Ability and willingness to work additional hours and shift work.
• Ability to complete and maintain Customer-specific escort requirements.
• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• U.S. citizenship.

Preferred

• Previous experience performing similar duties in a secured facility.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds and team lift 75 pounds.
