What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, implementation, and scaling of security controls and frameworks across one or more domains, including backend infrastructure, cloud environments, corporate systems, and/or abuse detection platforms.
- Architect and deploy solutions that protect against emerging threats, such as intrusion attempts, advanced threat actors, sophisticated abuse, spam, account takeover, and infrastructure attacks.
- Utilize AI tools and high velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production ready quality code.
- Drive cross-functional security initiatives by partnering with engineering, product, and operations teams to imbue secure practices throughout the entire development lifecycle.
- Conduct high-impact security reviews and threat modeling, identifying risk, remediating vulnerabilities, and ensuring robust security posture across services and systems.
- Build and operate protective tooling and AI enhanced automation, improving detection, incident response, and operational security capabilities.
- Mentor, influence, and elevate peers by setting technical direction, advocating best practices, and fostering a culture of security excellence
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Deep technical expertise in security engineering, including secure design, threat mitigation, and applied defenses across security domains.
- Proficiency in, or a strong aptitude for, leveraging AI tools to streamline development, paired with the critical judgment to audit generated output for architectural integrity, performance bottlenecks, and security risks.
- Adaptability in learning and applying evolving AI systems and tools to remain at the forefront of engineering trends and modern development practices.
- Proficiency with secure infrastructure and cloud technologies, such as Kubernetes, containers, IAM, networking, CSPM tools, and Zero Trust principles.
- Experience influencing secure architecture and system hardening, including endpoint posture, access governance, and vulnerability management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical work experience.
- 6+ years of post-Bachelor’s security related experience; or Master’s degree in a technical field + 5+ year of post-grad security related experience; or PhD in a relevant technical field + 2+ years of post-grad security related experience.
- Expertise in one of the following domains: infrastructure security, enterprise security, access management, application security, detection and response, or spam and abuse.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience securing complex distributed systems and/or enterprise-scale infrastructure.
- Strong programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design.
- Strong intellectual curiosity, self-motivated to keep up with the latest technology in the security domain.
- Experience with emerging technologies like AI/ML security, large-scale distributed systems, or abuse detection at scale.
