Security Engineer, Hardware Supply Chain Security Team (HSCS)
About the role
The AWS Hardware Supply Chain Security (HSCS) Team is looking for a Security Engineer to help guide our global hardware supplier and manufacturing security program. You will work with a team of professionals around the world to help assess and mitigate risks in partner manufacturing and logistics, contribute to new mechanisms for defense and response, and analyze the ever-shifting threat landscape to help us prioritize continuous improvement.

The HSCS team exists to direct strategic investments across AWS, and focuses relentlessly on achieving mitigations that eliminate risk in the most efficient and customer-obsessed way possible.
- Assess and prioritize security findings and recommend appropriate mitigations
- Perform hands-on threat modeling, risk assessment, and manufacturing security validation
- Security training and outreach to internal teams and external supply chain partners
- Travel as needed to provide insight and feedback to suppliers and data centers around the world
- Mentor and guide others to improve their own skills
Requirements
- 2+ years of web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship) experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits or equivalent
- Experience with web protocols, common security attacks, and remediation (non-internship)
- Experience solving basic problems by writing code or scripts with some assistance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
Qualifications and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $136,000.00 - $184,000.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
