About the role

The Lead Cloud and Data Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the security architecture for cloud environments and enterprise data systems. This role involves strategic planning, building security solutions, and operational support to safeguard Johns Manville’s digital assets. The engineer will collaborate with the CISO organization to develop security strategies aligned with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. The role includes leading a team in designing and configuring security solutions for projects, ensuring compliance, and responding to escalated security incidents. A proactive approach to security management, continuous research on emerging threats, and leadership in fostering a security-aware culture are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and implement enterprise security solutions to protect company assets, revenue, and brand reputation
  • Establish security configurations and controls for Microsoft and other cloud architectures
  • Lead large, complex global security projects, delegating tasks to team members as needed
  • Develop and execute security awareness programs to enhance employee knowledge and vigilance
  • Manage security configurations for cloud platforms, including Azure and Office 365
  • Serve as the escalation point for security incidents, providing technical leadership during complex issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead remediation efforts following security breaches or incidents
  • Review and recommend security technologies and best practices to align with industry standards
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure security compliance across all systems
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging security threats and mitigation strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in security and technical support
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISM, or Cloud Security Alliance certifications (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, processes, and controls
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 security and compliance
  • Understanding of financial and IT risk management, regulatory compliance, and vendor risk management
  • Deep expertise in Active Directory, LDAP, and identity management solutions
  • Proficiency in Data Loss Prevention, Azure cloud solutions, and Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility + Security
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to research, analyze, and present technical solutions effectively
  • Experience in configuring and testing security solutions in cloud and enterprise environments
