This position requires an active Department of Treasury clearance or the ability to obtain one. Must be local to the Boston, MA area and work remotely.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician with mandatory experience in Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). You will work closely with our service team, engineering team, and clients to install, maintain, and repair integrated electronic security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, procure, install, perform daily on-site maintenance, upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance on all systems, including annual IDS testing.
  • Capture and update inventory of all electronic security equipment as it is added, upgraded, or removed.
  • Provide technical assistance to team members and act as the technical expert for customers to solve problems or offer guidance.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, device testing, installation of electronic components, surveillance camera installation, and work with software monitoring systems.
  • Follow layout sheets, building plans, floor plans, circuit schematics, and manufacturer’s technical guidance.
  • Document, schedule, and close work orders with detailed descriptions of completed work.
  • Complete work orders based on customer requests via email, phone, or text, and submit weekly reports to customers and project managers.
  • Provide monthly activity documentation to the project manager by the 1st of the following month.
  • Complete expense reports weekly as needed.
  • Occasional overtime required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Approximately 3+ years of experience in government or commercial installations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in circuitry, electronics, basic wiring connections, fiber optic cabling, and CAT6 cabling runs and troubleshooting.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, upgrading, and supporting ACS, IDS, and VSS hardware/software.
  • Experience configuring connections with centralized monitoring systems such as Identiv, Honeywell, and Bosch preferred.
  • Formal training in electronics and circuitry from technical school or industry vendor certifications.
  • Skilled in using test equipment: digital multimeters, toner tracer, lineman handset, and video test monitor.
  • Certification as an installer of equipment such as Identiv/Hirsch, Software House, Bosch, Honeywell, and Exacq.
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 25 lbs.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain at least a Department of Treasury clearance.
  • GED required.
  • Mandatory VSS, ACS, and IDS experience.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Pay

Estimated starting salary range: $36.00 to $40.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
