Security Dispatcher
Description
The Security Dispatcher is responsible for communication between the casino and security officers. The dispatcher is essentially the “go-to person” for the entire facility, communication hub, help desk and general receptionist for back-of-the-house. Contact comes via radio, telephone, window access and walk-in. This position involves a high level of guest contact and customer service.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Answer phones and radio messages for many reasons such as medical/EMT responses, place any 911 calls, log the call, time and description, acquiring useful camera coverage where possible and several other emergency situations
- Able to control the radio net and direct responses according to procedures
- Screens all non-team members and verifies authorization to gain entry into BOH
- Able to work in a stressful environment
- Ensures visitors and vendors sign in/out and issues/retrieves a temporary badge
- Ensures that all team members, vendors or others are authorized to enter the facility
- Possesses knowledge of computer functions and operates various applications
- Maintains fleet vehicles: Control keys and record required entries on the activity log for fleet vehicles
- Maintains Controlled Keys and document issue/receive according to procedure
- Maintains alarms on the annunciation panel and makes proper notifications according to procedures
- Coordinates EMS, Local Law Enforcement, Managers, Security officers, and the general population of the property with response to emergencies and notifications
- Makes record of events and activities
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
- One (1) year experience in law enforcement, corrections or other security DISPATCH capacity (preferred)
- Experienced and proficient user in Microsoft Word; a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; a skills test will be administered and candidate must achieve at least 70% skills pass rate
- All candidates are required to participate in a panel interview. Additionally, all candidates may be asked demonstrate required skills by participating in a realistic job preview which consists of prepared scenarios and role-play. The panel of interviewers will observe all candidates during their role-play
- Experience in customer relations or guest services
- Completes/passes BASSET and Title#31 training as a condition of employment
Base Pay Compensation
Compensation: $15.00–$20.63 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
