About the role
The position is hourly and reports to either the Safe and Secure Team Lead or the Safe and Secure Manager. It requires a 24/7 operation with gates manned at all times.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a service first approach in everything you do.
- Exemplify Carvana’s values.
- Be the face of Carvana to associates, vendors, and visitors at the gates.
- Partner with the Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to resolve requests for badge creation, CCTV review, and other components.
- Ensure requests are delivered in a timely, quality, and service-oriented manner.
- Be available to support the Safe and Secure Team when needed.
- Train and certify on life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED.
- Handle emergency situations with a calm demeanor and effective communication.
- Execute facility Safe and Secure Principles at entrances and exits.
- Utilize the Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID technology.
- Manage and document the movement of vehicles into and out of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility.
- Conduct routine patrols and document any security or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with team, partners, and customers.
- Participate in identifying and documenting vehicle and property damages.
- Support JIRA CCTV review requests and badge requests.
- Assist in reviewing safety incidents and enhancing safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development to new associates.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of Carvana Safe and Secure experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of strong decision-making in a complex environment.
- Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
- Organizational and planning skills.
- Positive handling of conflict situations.
- Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, card access, and other Safe and Secure technology.
- Previous experience supporting an OSHA program – Safety Team.
- Previous experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans.
Skills
- Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
- Use of safety equipment as required.
- Frequent driving and computer data entry.
- Adherence to regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently and carry up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, stretch, reach, walk, stoop, push, and pull in a cold, hot, noisy, and wet environment.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment as required.
- Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.
