The Security Associate is responsible for assisting with security and loss prevention activities within the Distribution Center by supporting division objectives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for loss prevention and shortage control programs, taking an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement, and helping to identify shortage control solutions
• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors including the facility, as well as drivers and sales representatives
• Provide security for the company warehouse, offices, and general assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry
• Utilize a variety of methods to monitor and assist with the tracking of product shortages
• Investigate reports of known or suspected internal theft, violence or the threat of violence, or other criminal acts of an associate
• Provide oversight and assistance in the management of third-party security services
• Conduct company shrink compliance audits in the distribution center and facilitate improvement of shrink results
• Develop and maintain a rapport with various agencies as needed, coordinating investigations with internal or outside agencies
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 year of experience

Physical Demands

• Considerable time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
• Considerable time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods
• May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater
• Must be able to frequently lift/lower, push, carry, or pull 48 lbs
