Responsibilities

  • Periodically patrol buildings and grounds of the work site.
  • Examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to detect tampering.
  • Monitor and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and unlocked security doors.
  • Observe departing personnel to prevent theft of company property.
  • Sound alarms or call police/fire departments in case of fire or unauthorized persons.
  • Permit authorized persons to enter the property.
  • Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and equipment malfunctions for supervisory staff.
  • Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at company entrances to maintain orderly flow.
  • Monitor high-value loads via computer system to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate with the Operations department and other security associates regarding high-value load issues or violations.
  • Perform related work as required.

Requirements

  • Act 235 certification required.
  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Law enforcement or military experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate a solid work history and possess an excellent driving record.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable in basic corporate security procedures and emergency management techniques.
  • Abilities: Must be self-motivated, possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and work quickly and independently. Willingness to work overtime and flexible hours is required.
  • Computer Skills: Ability to type at least 40 WPM and proficiency in relevant systems.

Schedule

Wednesday–Saturday, 1800–0600 (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM).

Working Environment

Primarily indoors with regulated heating and cooling in a general office environment.
