Security Associate - 2nd Shift

Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. This role is designated as a safety-sensitive position and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Schedule

• 2 PM – 10:30 PM
• 5:30 PM – 1:30 AM
• 7 PM – 3:30 AM
• Open availability highly preferred
• Facility is a 24/7 operation; gates must be manned at all times

Pay

$17 hourly

Responsibilities

• Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates
• Serve as the face of Carvana to associates, vendors, and visitors
• Lead with effective communication, active listening, and dialogue with team members, partners, and customers
• Conduct routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings, documenting any security and/or safety concerns
• Become trained and certified in life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED
• Partner with the Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to address requests for badge creation, CCTV review, and other components
• Promote an incident-ready focus daily; understand and execute Incident Response Protocol as needed
• De-escalate situations while upholding Carvana’s value: “we are all in this together”
• Execute facility Safe and Secure Principles at entrance/exits, ensuring proper access and egress procedures
• Utilize the Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID technology
• Deliver a service-first approach in all interactions
• Exemplify Carvana values and contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience within a customer service environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven track record of strong decision-making in a complex environment
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to handle conflict situations positively
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently (majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting from various levels)
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet
• Requires standing for extended periods with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling
• Must work in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, and have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity
• Requires use of safety equipment (e.g., face shield, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments)
• Requires frequent driving and computer data entry
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, card access, and other Safe and Secure technology
• Previous experience supporting an OSHA program or Safety Team
• Experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans
