About the Role

As a Safe and Secure Associate, you will be an integral part of the Safe and Secure Team executing programs and processes at our facility to ensure our associates, customers, and assets are protected. At our gates, you will be the face of Carvana to our associates, our vendors, and our visitors. You will ensure proper protocols are followed with egress and digress procedures, be well versed on emergency procedures, and provide assistance when needed. You will play an active role in ensuring our Inventory Control procedures are adhered to.

Responsibilities

• Manage and properly document the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center entrance and exit gates.
• Serve as the face of Carvana to associates, vendors, and visitors, leading with effective communication.
• Conduct routine patrols of the Inspection Center and Logistics facility yard and buildings, documenting any security and/or safety concerns.
• Become trained and certified on life-saving measures such as first aid, CPR, and AED.
• Partner with your Safe and Secure Team Lead and Manager to remedy requests for badge creation, CCTV review, and other components.
• Promote an incident-ready focus every day, understanding and executing the Incident Response Protocol as needed.
• De-escalate situations while keeping Carvana’s value, “we are all in this together,” in mind.
• Execute facility Safe and Secure Principles at entrance/exits, utilizing the Safe and Secure Application (SAS App) and RFID Technology.
• Deliver a service-first approach in everything you do, exemplifying Carvana values.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience within a customer service environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of strong decision-making in a complex environment.
• Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• This job position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
• Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
• Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
• Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.
• Requires use of safety equipment that may include but is not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.
• Requires frequent driving and computer data entry.
• Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of CCTV, RFID, Card Access, and other Safe and Secure Technology.
• Previous experience supporting an OSHA program – Safety Team.
• Experience supporting crisis prevention and/or response plans.

Schedule

Wed-Fri 2-10:30PM, 12-8:30PM Sat-Sun (Open Availability Highly Preferred). The facility is a 24/7 operation and gates must be manned at all times.

Pay

$18 hourly.
