Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay

Paid time off is earned according to the local policy and increases with the length of employment.

Schedule

Must be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commissions every year of employment.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must have good observation skills.
• Must speak clearly and politely; respond well to questions.
• Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Displays excellent customer service skills and building positive team spirit.

Responsibilities

Ensures the safety of employees and others in the racing and barn areas of HCCTR. Permits authorized persons to enter property. Reports critical situations to appropriate supervisor. Reports to the Security supervisor, any violations, acts or situations which are detrimental to the best interest of HCCTR. Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, etc. Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards. Maintains complete confidentiality at all times with respect to the internal functions of the Security department as well as any other information deemed to be confidential. Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff. Participates in meetings and training as required. Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner and reports safety hazards immediately. Prepares reports as requested or required.

Requirements

Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, employees and others. Effective in communicating and presenting information and responding to questions from supervisors, managers, fellow employees and/or the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
