Key Responsibilities
- Check identification of all visitors and ensure visitors are sponsored and properly cleared via DISS or a local database.
- Determine each visitor’s need to enter the building. Log visitors, issue visitor badges, and notify hosts of visitor arrivals.
- Ensure visitors are not introducing prohibited items, including cell phones, pagers, jump drives, PDAs, or other prohibited materials.
- Check assigned personnel and ensure they have and are displaying authorized access badges.
- Absorb and assist government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items.
- Deny introduction of prohibited materials, including explosives, weapons, electronic devices, or other items specified by the Accrediting Official or designee.
- Conduct random inspections of all site areas to ensure prohibited materials have not been brought onto the site.
- Ensure suspicious materials or incidents are brought to the attention of the Site Security Manager or Construction Surveillance Technician.
- Screen all non-cleared workers, vehicles, and equipment entering or exiting the project site.
- Conduct inspections of materials delivered for use in construction of secure spaces and document the results of findings.
- Receive packages from outside agencies, including UPS, FedEx, and similar carriers, and distribute them in accordance with facility standard operating procedures.
- Maintain control of and operate within the Secure Storage Area established by the assigned construction company within the construction site footprint where construction materials and equipment used for the project will be stored.
- Perform emergency procedures for bomb threats, active shooter situations, force protection, anti-terrorism, fire evacuation, and other emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedure checklists.
- Account for all logs, instructions, equipment, and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday.
- Follow and enforce customer Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or Senior Security Representative.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years related experience.
- Prior experience in special program security work is highly preferred.
