Key Responsibilities
- Check identification of all visitors and ensure they are sponsored and properly cleared via DISS or a local database.
- Determine visitors’ need to enter the building, log visitors in, issue visitor badges, and notify hosts of visitor arrivals.
- Screen all non-cleared workers, vehicles, and equipment entering or exiting the project site.
- Deny the introduction of prohibited materials, including explosives, weapons, electronic devices, or other items specified by the Accrediting Official (AO) or designee.
- Conduct random inspections of all site areas to ensure prohibited materials have not been brought onto the site.
- Ensure visitors do not introduce prohibited items such as cell phones, pagers, jump drives, PDAs, or similar devices.
- Perform and/or assist government employees with inspecting bags and hand-carried items.
Security and Escort Operations
- Provide perimeter and internal access control as a Cleared American Guard (CAG)/Cleared Escort.
- Control secure storage areas and escort personnel or materials within controlled construction areas.
- Maintain control and operate the Secure Storage Area (SSA) established by the assigned construction company within the construction site footprint for construction materials and equipment used for the project.
- Ensure suspicious materials or incidents are brought to the attention of the Site Security Manager (SSM) or Construction Surveillance Technician (CST).
- Conduct inspections of materials delivered for utilization in the construction of secure spaces and document the findings.
Security Administration and Emergency Procedures
- Aid with personnel, information, program security, and entry control functions.
- Perform emergency procedures for bomb threats, active shooter incidents, force protection, Anti-Terrorism, fire evacuation, and other emergency situations in accordance with emergency procedure checklists.
- Account for all logs, instructions, equipment, and badges at the beginning and end of each scheduled workday.
- Receive packages from outside agencies, including UPS and FedEx, and distribute them in accordance with facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Follow and enforce customers’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Perform miscellaneous administrative support functions as directed by the contractor site lead and/or Senior Security Representative.
