About the Role
The Security Account Director serves as Inter-Con's senior operational leader and dedicated point of contact for a major contract portfolio. This position provides strategic alignment across the account and coordinates management, service delivery, invoicing, reporting, and continuous operational support for all managerial and supervisory personnel assigned to the program. The role is accountable for the consistent delivery of high-quality contract security services across multiple Bay Area locations, representing approximately 16,000 security hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated senior point of contact for the client regarding national account portfolio management and contract security service delivery.
- Coordinate account management, operations, invoicing, reporting, and other contractual requirements across the portfolio.
- Provide strategic alignment and ongoing support to all account managers, site managers, supervisors, and other personnel assigned to the program.
- Ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality contract security services in accordance with the Statement of Work, client requirements, Inter-Con policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Lead and support security operations across multiple contract service locations in the San Francisco, San Bruno, and Mountain View markets.
- Oversee approximately 16,000 weekly security hours and provide leadership for geographically dispersed teams, including remote management and regular site engagement.
- Establish and maintain trusted relationships with client stakeholders and ensure timely, professional communication regarding operational performance, risks, and service needs.
- Make recommendations for long-term and additional security measures that may benefit the client or complement existing security measures and practices.
- Escalate contractual issues, significant operational concerns, and security situations to the appropriate client and Inter-Con points of contact in a timely manner.
- Schedule, prepare for, and attend quarterly business review meetings to discuss reporting, key performance indicators, service performance, trends, risks, and corrective actions.
- Partner with client and Inter-Con stakeholders to assess performance against established KPIs and implement measurable improvement plans when required.
- Drive staffing health, overtime control, compliance, leadership development, and operational consistency across the account.
- Ensure account documentation, reports, post orders, standard operating procedures, and governance materials are current, accurate, and aligned with contractual requirements.
- Support incident response, investigations, business continuity, and executive-level escalation management as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, Public Safety, or a related field preferred; extensive equivalent experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible contract security management or related operational leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, complex, multi-site security operations and managing leaders across geographically dispersed locations.
- Experience supporting high-technology, corporate, or other sophisticated client environments strongly preferred.
- Strong executive presence and a proven ability to manage senior client relationships, contractual matters, and sensitive escalations.
- Deep knowledge of security operations, staffing strategy, performance management, compliance, incident management, and continuous improvement.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgeting, invoicing, overtime management, reporting, and KPI analysis.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, managers, and frontline personnel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based productivity applications.
- Ability to travel regularly among Bay Area service locations and remain available for urgent operational issues and escalations outside normal business hours.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any licenses, certifications, background clearances, and client-specific credentials required for the assignment.
Schedule
Full-time position with regular travel among contract service locations in the Bay Area. Primary office may be located in San Francisco, San Bruno, or Mountain View based on business needs. Must remain accessible for urgent client matters, incidents, and operational escalations, including outside normal business hours.
