About the Role
We are seeking a Sales Trader to support the growth of the Atlas Secondary Trading platform, primarily covering Non-Agency RMBS and ABS products. This individual will extend the trading capacity of the desk while partnering closely with the Sales & Distribution team to advance client connectivity in secondary markets, deepen market color, and broaden liquidity in securitized products securities. The successful candidate will leverage deep institutional relationships and Atlas partnerships to provide liquidity and investment opportunities to banks, asset managers, insurance companies, hedge funds, private credit funds, and other institutional investors. This role requires a strong understanding of structured products, capital markets, and financing transactions, along with the ability to bridge client needs with the firm's origination and investment capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide clients with market color, relative value analysis, and inventory/trading opportunities.
- Execute secondary market transactions and hedging trades.
- Monitor market developments, spreads, issuance activity, and investor flows.
- Communicate client feedback and market intelligence to senior management and investment teams.
- Support transaction structuring, investor outreach, pricing discussions, and execution processes.
- Prepare and deliver investor presentations, market commentary, and transaction updates.
- Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, banks, insurance companies, private credit funds, hedge funds, and other market participants.
- Originate new client opportunities and expand existing relationships across financing and investment products, partnering with core coverage, Sales & Distribution, and origination teams.
- Market structured credit investments and financing solutions to institutional clients.
- Identify investor demand, market trends, and capital deployment opportunities.
- Monitor and manage the overall risk profile of the portfolio/trading desk against risk limits.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and compliance standards.
- Maintain required registrations and licenses.
- Promote a culture of strong risk management and client-first execution.
- Contribute to strategic growth initiatives within structured products and financing.
- Mentor junior team members and support talent development.
- Participate in recruiting, training, and team-building efforts.
- Help expand the firm's investor network and market presence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in structured products sales, securitized products trading, financing distribution, capital markets, or related institutional markets roles.
- Strong understanding of structured credit, asset-backed finance, warehouse lending, and financing transactions.
- Demonstrated track record of institutional relationship management and revenue generation.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with institutional investors across structured credit and private credit markets.
- Experience with ABS, CLOs, warehouse facilities, asset-backed lending, repo financing, or specialty finance transactions.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg, Intex, MarketAxess, Tradeweb, and other market platforms.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or ability to obtain).
- MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation.
Pay
Base Salary Range: $200,000 - $300,000. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and firm performance.
