About the role

Join the Legal team to protect Barclays, its employees, and its brands while ensuring global competitiveness and compliance with legal standards. Your responsibilities will include risk mitigation, managing strategic transactions, and overseeing business contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice relating to offering materials, underwriting/purchase agreements, warehouse repurchase agreements, engagement letters, legal opinions and confidentiality agreements.
• Advisory to the Barclays transaction committees in the Americas and work with business personnel across Securitized Products within the Investment Bank.
• Advise the relevant businesses on regulatory developments and legal issues that arise relating to securitization/structured finance (e.g., Securities Act and Securities Exchange Act reporting, risk retention, due diligence requirements, representation and warranty reporting, Volcker, etc.).
• Manage legal risks of the firm’s transactions and activities in the relevant coverage area and coordinate regularly with the Risk and Compliance departments, among other functional partners.

Requirements

• US securities and securitization legal expertise
• Legal and regulatory risk management skills
• Experience in relevant securitization coverage areas and Legal experience
• Thinking creatively and identifying innovative solutions
• The ability to clearly articulate multi-layered concepts and ideas
• Excellent written and verbal English language skills

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law or related field
• At least 7 years of relevant legal experience
• Experience in securitized products and commercial real estate
• Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documents
• Experience in regulatory compliance and risk management

• Knowledge of securitization and structured finance laws and regulations

Pay

Minimum Salary: $200,000
Maximum Salary: $290,000

Schedule

Full-time position based in New York.
