Securities Trading Attorney
About the role
Susquehanna has a job opportunity available for a securities trading attorney to join our in-house counsel/legal team. In this role, you will focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements related to the trading and financing of securities and other exchange-traded and OTC financial products (ISDAs, MCAs, clearing agreements, prime brokerage agreements, etc.). Your role will be that of a liaison, strategizing with trading desks, operations, compliance, tax and other colleagues on a comprehensive array of issues that are as diverse and multifaceted as our continually evolving business.
Responsibilities
- Provide frontline legal support to various trading desks within Susquehanna
- Draft, review, and negotiate ISDAs, trade confirmations, prime brokerage, clearing, direct market access and various other trading-related agreements
- Oversee and coordinate outside counsel on an ad hoc basis
Requirements
- 7-10 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 4 years of securities trading experience
- Experience in financial services industry preferred
Qualifications
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills required
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to liaise comfortably with all levels of management and outside counsel
- Initiative in obtaining information needed to proceed with projects and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations or urgent requests that may arise with little or no notice
- Discretion and sensitivity when working with confidential information and safeguard such information appropriately
- Independent judgment when evaluating projects or assignment needs
- Knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Willingness to work additional and flexible hours on occasion

Benefits
The annual base pay range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 + discretionary bonus + benefits. Susquehanna considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, key skills, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
