Securities Associate
About the role
Nelson Mullins is seeking an associate to join its securities group. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 but no more than 5 years of meaningful experience in mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, capital markets, or Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) while working at a midsize or large law firm. They should possess strong academic credentials and writing, analytical, and communication skills, and be admitted to practice and in good standing with either the DC or New York Bar.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on complex securities matters
- Participate in all aspects of corporate finance transactions
- Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Prepare and present legal opinions and memoranda
- Work closely with clients and colleagues to understand their needs and goals
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
- Admitted to practice and in good standing with either the DC or New York Bar
- At least 3 but no more than 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
Qualifications
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, capital markets, or SPACs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
