SECTION SUPERVISOR

About the role

The Medical Assistance Program (MAP) is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate II to function as a Section Supervisor in MAP’s Fordham Medicaid Community Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of several units, composed of PAA Is, Eligibility Specialists, and Clerical Associates involved in the processing of Medicaid eligibility applications. They will also be responsible for reviewing difficult or unusual cases, monitoring and maintaining staff performance, preparing and submitting statistical data, conducting in-service training, and participating in staff meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Review and process Medicaid eligibility applications
• Supervise and monitor staff performance
• Prepare and submit statistical data and special reports
• Conduct in-service training for staff
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and conferences
• Make recommendations for improvements

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty
• An associate degree and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described above
• A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described above

Qualifications

• One year of administrative or supervisory experience as described above
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications

Preferred Skills

• Medicaid experience
• Strong supervisory and communication skills

Pay

$61,656.00 – $70,904.00
