About the Role

Raytheon, part of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a Section Leader in the Naval Systems Department within the System Integration and Test (SI&T) discipline. The Naval Systems Department supports multiple contracts for SPY6 Radar, Ship, and Undersea Systems.

This position provides an opportunity to grow your skillset by contributing to the development of our workforce and fostering a collaborative environment. Section Leader duties account for approximately 10% of the employee’s time, with the remainder spent as a technical lead or individual contributor.

This role can be based out of Tewksbury, MA, Marlborough, MA, or Woburn, MA. Occasional travel (10%) and the ability to support multiple shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers, establishing meaningful and measurable goals and communicating effectively with the team.
  • Oversee direct line management activities, including performance impact, career development, and talent acquisition.
  • Support department and directorate-level initiatives.
  • Ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel issues and provide mentoring and feedback.
  • Adhere to and ensure alignment with Raytheon Technologies Values and Behaviors.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in system, software, integration, and/or test.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Past experience with team leadership.
  • Experience with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or similar budget tracking systems.
  • Experience with Raytheon’s Proposal Capture Process (e.g., development of Basis of Estimates).
  • Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
