About the Role
Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking Senior Systems Engineers to join our Portsmouth, RI team. We primarily support programs in the Naval undersea and surface domains, including sensor systems, mine countermeasures, submarines, torpedoes, combat systems, and ship architecture/integration. Our engineers perform radar data analysis and tracking, develop and manage system requirements, integrate hardware and software, create test plans, debug and evaluate system functions, and verify requirements for final customer sell-off.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical expert and key leader, supporting the team leader in managing daily operations and ensuring team effectiveness.
- Support and develop key engineering activities: underwater acoustics analysis, system requirements development, hardware/software integration, test plan creation, debugging, and system performance evaluation.
- Oversee technical work, review deliverables, and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
- Proactively identify potential roadblocks, negotiate changes, and foster collaboration among stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve conflicts.
- Evaluate vendor contracts, procurement strategies, and operational efficiencies to optimize spending and align financial needs with overall strategy.
- Travel domestically up to 15% to support customer events.
What You Will Learn

Requirements
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- Experience with radar data analysis.
- Experience with MBSE, DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge as a subject matter expert in systems engineering or a closely related field, providing technical guidance and driving successful project outcomes.
- Ability to break down complex problems, analyze data effectively, and identify actionable solutions while maintaining a sharp focus on details.
- Experience analyzing performance metrics and applying optimization techniques to enhance efficiency and functionality.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks, handle shifting priorities, meet tight deadlines, and stay organized in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
