About the role

We're expanding our engineering organization to meet exciting customer demand and are seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to support important Naval Radar programs. This role involves solving complex problems in hardware, software, networking, or a combination of all three through troubleshooting and data analysis. You'll collaborate across disciplines to implement solutions and drive performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues, ensuring schedule execution of assigned program elements.
  • Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Utilize modeling and simulation tools to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
  • Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Work with customers and multi-disciplinary internal teams to achieve seamless integration and system functionality.
  • Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements, and communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Decompose and track specifications throughout complex systems architectures.
  • Travel as needed (up to 10%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance eligibility).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance (Secret) prior to start date.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience integrating military systems in one or more of the following: software, systems hardware, systems requirements, systems integration, or systems test.
  • Engineering leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sensor systems, especially RADAR.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management system tracking of team tasks.
  • Experience generating technical documentation, such as test plans, procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting requirements development, integration, and/or verification.
  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, and/or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++, and/or other programming languages.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
