About the role

The Department of Pathology at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) and Case Western Reserve University is seeking an experienced academic hematopathologist to lead the Section of Hematopathology within the Division of Clinical Pathology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of hematopathology diagnostic services
  • Support and oversee the educational and research missions of the Section
  • Mentor the faculty of the Section to success in these missions
  • Provide leadership and oversight for the hematology laboratory, bone marrow and lymph node diagnostic services, and flow cytometry
  • Engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Engage in clinical and translational research activities
  • Provide appropriate laboratory space and start-up package commitments for physician-scientist candidates with potential for competitive externally funded laboratory research programs

Requirements

  • Hold an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree
  • Be board-certified/eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology with fellowship training and/or specialty expertise in hematopathology
  • Be qualified for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Ohio

  • Experience in hematopathology

  • Ability to engage in clinical and translational research

  • Strong communication and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of hematopathology and related fields
