Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Faculty member will have teaching responsibilities in the area of Hepatology. Faculty member will provide guidance and mentorship to Residents and Chief Residents in GI.
  • Research: Faculty member will have experience in securing revenue through grants and contracts and will serve as a research mentor to other members of the division and the Department of Pediatrics.
  • Service: Faculty member will serve on departmental or School of Medicine level committees when appropriate, as well as professional through journal review, conference presentations.
  • Clinical: Faculty member will provide clinical support within the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology in support of clinical mission of CHoR of VCU Health System.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatrics, Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Board Certification/Board Eligible in Pediatric Transplant Hepatology, Experience with clinical care of patients ages birth to 21, Experience with education of house staff, medical students, and others, Experience with research, Excellent interpersonal skills, Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  • Preferred Qualifications: Sub-board and or additional graduate degree, Experience with advocacy at local, state, and national levels, Success in generating revenue (grants/contracts)
