About the role
Performs a variety of clerical and secretarial duties for the efficient and effective operation of office functions. Coordinate office and other activities for the betterment of students, instructional staff, support staff, as well as parents and members of the community.
Responsibilities
- Avoids delays in processing routine and non-routine tasks.
- Ensures the safety of students, staff, and school community members through coordination of security measures.
- Communicates effectively with all types of people, including parents, staff, and students.
- Operates various office equipment and utilizes appropriate computer software and programs.
- Maintains confidentiality and respects sensitive information.
- Responds to routine questions and requests in an appropriate manner.
- Coordinates building testing programs as requested by the building supervisor.
- Issues appropriate passes to students.
- Assists with student scheduling.
- Orders and distributes departmental and individual classroom supplies, teacher and student handbooks.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building administrator or the Superintendent.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of related experience.
- Ability to work effectively and positively with others.

- Ability to prioritize and complete job assignments.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to utilize appropriate computer software and programs.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to two years of related experience.
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Supervisor and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
