Teacher Summary/Objective

Uplift Michigan Online School must provide an excellent education to all students, adhering to the school's mission, vision, and goals, and Summit Management Consulting's core values. Your primary goal is to ensure students learn subject matter aligned with state standards and Uplift Michigan Online School's curriculum.

Essential Functions

• Plan and deliver varied, interesting, engaging, and enjoyable lessons for students.
• Create lesson plans in harmony with students' learning styles.
• Assign homework only in accordance with Uplift Michigan Online School's homework philosophy and PLC team guidelines.
• Offer assignments and assessments matching state standards for the associated content, providing frequent and timely feedback to students.
• Review and analyze student performance data to develop plans to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain timely, complete, and accurate student records (Skyward and CAT).
• Develop curriculum aligned to state standards, using approved guidelines as necessary.
• Develop and implement educational plans such as IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior plans.
• Maintain a classroom conducive to learning, ensuring it is safe and nurturing for all students.
• Communicate with parents frequently via phone, text, email, Skyward, face-to-face conferences, written correspondence, or other means.
• Provide parents with encouraging news and items of concern, returning parent e-mail and voice mail messages within 24 hours.
• Conduct research, attend conferences, meetings, and pursue continuing education to stay updated on best practices and to serve as a life-long learner.
• Keep teaching certification up to date.
• Perform other duties as directed by School Administration.

Evaluation

All employees are evaluated based on primary responsibilities and adherence to general expectations. Immediate feedback is provided frequently throughout the school year, culminating in a year-end evaluation.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

• Very active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
• Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
