About the role
Uplift Michigan Online School is a student-centered virtual learning community dedicated to providing high-quality, engaging, and equitable online education for learners across Michigan. Our mission is to empower students through innovative instruction, strong relationships, and personalized academic support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging virtual science instruction for middle and/or high school students
- Develop lesson plans aligned with Michigan academic standards
- Use digital learning platforms to provide interactive instruction and assessments
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse student learning needs
- Maintain accurate academic records and monitor student progress
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff
- Participate in virtual staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive online classroom environment
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Science Endorsement preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Science, or related field
- Experience teaching in online or blended learning environments is a plus
- Strong technology and classroom management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build meaningful relationships in a virtual setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas, Google Classroom, or Schoology
- Knowledge of project-based learning and inquiry-based science instruction
