Secondary Science Teacher

About the Role

The Middle and Upper School Science faculty report to the Director of Middle and Upper School. Each faculty member teaches five classes per academic year, serves as an advisor for students, and takes on additional duties as assigned by the Middle and Upper School Director.

Responsibilities

• Teach five classes as assigned by the Upper School Director and Science Department Chair
• Serve as an advisor to 8-12 students
• Ensure formal and informal evaluation occurs throughout the academic year to provide an accurate picture of each student’s understanding of the content
• Teach critical and creative thinking skills as they apply to the content area
• Provide narrative comments at selected intervals throughout the year
• Serve on a weekend team 5 or 6 times per school year to support Student Life
• Keep online gradebook up-to-date
