Paola High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Secondary School Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to promote student success and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, families, and staff
• Develop and implement programs to address student needs and improve school climate
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop and implement educational plans
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to counseling services
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance counseling skills

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling or related field
• Valid Kansas teaching license
• Experience working with adolescents and families
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling or related field preferred
• Experience in a high school setting
• Knowledge of adolescent development and learning theories

Skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
