The Secondary Processing Specialist is responsible for working independently to process and document residential real estate loans to be sold into the secondary loan market and portfolio loans to investor guidelines and doc requirements. Conducts daily business interactions and maintains constant alignment with OnPath’s mission, culture, and core values. Initiative and judgment are required in the absence of specific direction from management.
Responsibilities
- Works independently to process and document residential real estate loans to be sold into the secondary loan market and portfolio loans to investor guidelines and doc requirements.
- Ensures all secondary market loans are complete and properly documented.
- Multi-tasks with processor functions for all home lending products in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector AUS systems.
- Coordinates with underwriters and borrowers to quickly and effectively clear stipulations and exceptions.
- Prepares complete loan files for underwriting decisions.
- Processes and uploads completed loan packages to third-party lenders, investors, and servicers, when required.
- Assures that all customer files are complete and in compliance with all regulations and internal policies.
- Updates and documents the status of loans in the origination system.
- Assists Mortgage Loan Officers and Management as needed with communication to members, employees, and other third parties.
- Ensures member privacy, security of files, and appropriate staff access.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3–5 years of mortgage loan processing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage an average pipeline of 25–35 active mortgage loans while maintaining accuracy, quality, compliance, and established service-level timelines.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- A significant level of trust, credibility, and diplomacy is required for in-depth dialogue and conversations of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
- High level of interpersonal skills to communicate information, policies, procedures, and objectives effectively throughout the credit union to internal and external members.
- Accuracy in the recording of daily transactions.
Skills
- Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector AUS systems.

Physical Requirements
- Able to bend, sit, and stand to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
- Capable of climbing/descending stairs in an emergency situation.
- Able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals, keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
- Able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
- Able to work extended hours or travel off-site whenever required or requested by management.
- Capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
- Able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $22.80 to $28.50 per hour based on skills and experience.
