About the Role
The High School Principal is a key leadership position responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and instructional leadership of a high school within the district. The Principal will foster a positive school culture, ensure high academic achievement, and support the social-emotional growth of all students.
Responsibilities
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the school.
• Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and facilities management.
• Supervise, evaluate, and develop instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
• Implement and monitor district and state educational policies, programs, and initiatives.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and equitable school environment that promotes student success.
• Engage with parents, families, and the community to build strong partnerships.
• Analyze student performance data to drive instructional improvements and close achievement gaps.
• Manage school resources effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead school improvement efforts and implement evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required).
• Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of successful school leadership experience (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of high school curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and school improvement planning.
